It shows you how much electricity your home/office is using at any given moment. It displays your annual energy usage in either watts or more meaningfully in pounds! (or euros or dollars). You can see at a glance that if you left all the appliances that are currently switched on for the whole year, your annual bill would be for example ?3,475 - or what ever the reading says. As you switch just one light off, the reading goes down, as you switch a fan heater on it shoots up. It is very simple to fit - I fitted one at home in less than five minutes - you simply clip a lead around the thick wire leading into your fuse box and the actual display box can go anywhere in the house. We were all glued to watching how the reading in Pounds shot up when we switched the kettle on and then died away when we switched off every light in the house. Box contains: sensor clip, transmitter, Wattson display unit, transmitter batteries, display charger, USB lead. You can even store up to 4 weeks of history to track your energy consumption progress. Comment from Fiona AM: I gave this to Mark for Christmas and on the first night we all sat by candlelight with the log fire burning with as little electricity being used as possible. The children went round the house turning off all the lights, radio, washing machine, computer etc. It was amazing how we are now all motivated to get the display down to the lowest figure possible - it is a real incentive to reduce the household energy bill!
